Today’s post is from Alycia Prince, recent bride AND wedding coordinator at LMW featured venue, Best Western Plus InnTowner. While living and working in Madison, she planned her Minnesota wedding mostly from afar. We all know that planning a wedding can be stressful enough without the added element of distance, so today Alycia is sharing her unique experience and shedding light on the perks of a hotel wedding!
Less than a year ago I was in your shoes—in the process of planning a wedding while trying to juggle a million other things including a full time job as an Event Planner. You’d think that because I was in the industry that would make things easier but it didn’t it was actually the opposite. Knowing all my options made it overwhelming. I spent weeks looking at venues for the ceremony and reception trying to find two places close in proximity. I made a list of the things I was looking for in a venue: easy, convenient and reasonably priced. I thought it wasn’t possible to have it all and then it dawned on me… hotels are all of those things.
Benefits of hosting your wedding ceremony and reception at a hotel:
As the bride and groom, you have one contact person.
With less points of contact, you can feel more confident that all details are coordinated and will run smoothly on the day of your wedding.
Travel is kept to a minimum.
When you are planning a wedding with multiple locations, there is much more to consider than just where you’re going to be. You need to coordinate travel for you and your wedding party. You need to provide guests with added directions so they can navigate to each location and offer ideas for things to do if there is time in between events.
Additionally, all that stuff you need to bring will be in one place so there’s no forgetting where you left something.
Guests don’t need to worry about finding accommodations.
It’s convenient because your guests don’t need to worry about getting from one place to another or trying to find a hotel close to the venue. They don’t need to get there early to find a place to park. There’s nothing better than going to wedding and not having to carry your invitation around to know where to go or what’s next.
Lastly, it’s reasonably priced which has got to be my favorite of all the perks to having a wedding at a hotel. Most hotel wedding packages include setup, tables, chairs, china, linens and sometimes even a bridal suite for the happy couple. This means less vendors you need to bring in and more money towards your dream wedding. It’s a win-win for everyone. My guests had a great time and I was able to really enjoy my special day.
