A few weeks ago, on that wonderful and unseasonably warm early April Saturday, Bride Blogger Keri and her fiance Rob had their engagement photos taken! Today Keri is sharing their gallery, along with the story of how they met and how Rob asked her to be his wife!
HOW ROB & KERI MET
We met on a blind date…
Rob’s colleague, Mitch, and Keri’s sister’s friend Helen, set us up on a blind date, thinking we’d be perfect for each other. Both Rob and I had tried online dating for a while so we both went in managing our expectations of what the next hour would entail (If you have ever been on a blind date you know what I mean :). But, I trusted Helen and Rob trusted Mitch so we gave it a try! We met on a Saturday at Coup d’etat in Minneapolis both thinking we would have one drink and then be on our way. Well, 8 HOURS LATER, (we can’t believe it either), we were still at the restaurant talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. After our first date, we both knew that this was something special. We fell in love. And we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
Rob and I really love to travel and explore new places together. We decided to take a road trip last October to the Black Hills in South Dakota. With my Type A personality, I had all of our hiking routes picked out in advance and knew (or thought I knew) exactly what we would be doing on the trip. We set out on a day hike to the highest natural point in South Dakota, Black Elk Peak (also the highest summit in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains), with a picnic lunch and our pup, Meka. Little did I know, Rob had the ring in his pocket and was waiting for the perfect moment to propose. As we were hiking down from the summit, we took a spur trail to stop at the Cathedral Spires. I was scampering up and down the rocks with Meka and I turned around and Rob was on one knee! We were both so excited and happy to share that special moment together. We can’t wait to celebrate and start our married life with our family and friends on New Year’s Eve!
We are excited to share our engagement session gallery with you! Our photographer, Kassie Ana Photography, made us feel so comfortable that it was easy to forget that there was a camera on us! We are so happy that she will be shooting our wedding. We had a blast walking around downtown Madison and of course had to make a stop at Dough Baby Bakery for some donuts and a pop-tart (Dough Baby will be catering our dessert at the wedding)!
