We are kicking off our Bride Blogger series with Ashley and Beau’s downtown engagement session! These two lovebirds are getting married in October at The Lageret. Their wedding theme is rustic industrial and you can see that play out in the earthy, urban session below.
HOW BEAU & ASHLEY MET
Beau and I met in the spring of 2011 while attending the University of San Diego. He liked my punky side bangs, and I really enjoyed his cartoon t-shirts. We quickly realized that we were from the same hometown, Littleton, CO, and instantly clicked. That was enough for Beau to convince me to join him for a date less than a week later to get some cheese enchiladas and head to Mt. Soledad in San Diego. Since then, we both graduated from college, moved across the country to Madison, WI, where we purchased our first home together, started our first post-college jobs, and consumed (probably) hundreds of slices of pizza. We enjoy traveling, 30-minute sitcoms, hiking, and going to concerts together.
While on a work trip in New York City during July of 2016, Beau went to my favorite jewelry designer, Anna Sheffield, to design a ring. We had been talking about getting engaged so he went in with a few general ideas for design inspiration: gold, unique and Anna Sheffield. What resulted was a gorgeous Emerald cut ring with double gold bands. I love that it is unique and that Beau custom designed it just for me. In September, we traveled to Norway together on vacation. After hiking to the highest point in Oslo on September 12, 2016, Beau proposed! I was so distracted by the views at the top of the mountain, and just the vacation in general, that I was so shocked when I saw him down on one knee!
