There are several East Coast destinations that I recommend for honeymoon travel:
If you are looking for a laid back beach getaway, the Outer Banks in North Carolina is the perfect destination. You can either rent a beach house or stay at one of the local hotels. This area offers coffee shops, home-owned restaurants and yet you can still have a late night at local bar.
Lighthouse View Oceanfront Lodging in Buxton, NC (pictured above) makes you feel like you are sleeping on the beach with breathtaking views from your balcony of the ocean. This resort has a great price point and is in a great location to experience all the Outer Banks has to offer.
If you want to stay in a luxury condo on the beach, check out Sweet Escape at the Colony by the Sea in Duck, NC. This 1 bedroom, 2 bath unit is oceanfront with a full kitchen in a breathtaking area of the Outer Banks. This condo allows you the opportunity to escape completely and enjoy each other on your honeymoon.
Niagara Falls allows you to visit with or without a passport as you can see this beautiful work of nature from the Canadian side or the United States side. These falls will take your breath away and is such a romantic place, you’ll fall in love all over again. You can eat at some of the local restaurants with a view, shop in the many shops, and enjoy a vibrant nightlife.
Bed and Breakfast
Stay at the Hillcrest Inn, a Georgian mansion only steps away from the Falls. You can walk to the Canadian or United States side! They offer an array of accommodations from their Master Suite to the English room. Enjoy a full, gourmet breakfast in the Asian style dining room or on the property’s sunny porch!
Hotel on the Falls
The Tower Hotel is a unique boutique hotel that looks directly DOWN on the Falls in Ontario, Canada. This hotel is total luxury with a very modern feel. Your room is located on the 27-30 floor of the tower and has floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows with views. The hotel boasts a Marilyn Monroe inspired bistro, again with amazing views.
Are you looking for a lively, beach vacation? Miami is the place to be! Miami offers wonderful beaches, lots of award winning restaurants and nightclubs, as well as some of the world’s best shopping. You may even have some celebrity sightings while visiting this exciting city. South Beach is one of the main attractions in the Miami area.
Thompson Miami Beach is a chic, retro property right on the beach. There is dining on site, 2 pools, and multiple bars often with live music. This property has a great location so you can walk to most of the places you’ll want to visit while on your honeymoon. The rooms are updated and large and the service is top of the line.
Boutique South Beach
The WinterHaven is a great place to stay if you want to experience the art deco vibe of Miami. This resort allows you to walk right across the street to the beach or walk to the many shops, restaurants, and bars all along Ocean Drive. The price is good for this property and the rooms are very well kept.
Stay tuned! Next week Stephanee will share her tropical honeymoon destination recommendations!
