From The Photographer:
“DJ and Monica are UW band Alumni, and they made sure to keep the spirit of Madison a central part of their wedding day. They are also huge Star Wars fans, and this was also incorporated in fun ways. The ceremony took place on picture perfect September day at Olbrich Gardens. The wedding colors of rust and moss complimented the beauty of the gardens in full late summer bloom to perfection. Butterflies and bumble bees were also in attendance with blue skies.
After the ceremony the bridal party and some friends chilled out at the Old Sugar Distillery. This distillery is a Madison treat on the near east side. We did some fun Stars Wars photos when Monica used the force in front of the whiskey barrels. I also think her wedding colors were planned around the rust and moss colors of the room of the distillery. Good thinking Monica!
Lastly we migrated to the Brink Lounge for a lovely reception complete with Star Wars details. After dinner and toasts the DB Orchestra treated this Madison crowd to live music. We did manage to sneak outside for a night portrait. Monica really wanted the Capitol in the background and the only way to do that was venture out to the median on East Wash! We survived and the result was spectacular. Thank you so much to DJ and Monica for having me be a part of your very special Madison and Star Wars themed wedding day.
I love you, I know.”
