From the Photographer: Greg and Christina’s day was unique in that not only did they have a traditional American wedding ceremony, but they also began the day with a Chinese tea ceremony. The tea ceremony takes place as a time for the soon-to-be-married couple to pause and honor both their parents and elderly family members. To begin, the newlyweds kneel in front of each couple as a sign of respect. Next, they serve both the elder husband and wife their own cup of tea that they have prepared especially for the day. After giving the tea, the elder couple then gives the newlyweds a special gift for their wedding, along with some words of wisdom.
After the tea ceremony, Christina changed into her traditional white wedding gown and the couple said “I Do” in front of their closest family and friends. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of teal and carried stunning bouquets filled with garden roses, hydrangeas and eucalyptus leaves. At the reception, centerpieces were inspired by Greg and Christina’s mutual passion for cooking and food. Each table had a unique food item as it’s focal point, surrounded by more floral.
