We’ve got ears, say Cheers! (Can you tell we watch a lot of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in our home?) Today’s reader real wedding combines elegance and those and everyone’s favorite ears! Take a peek at Jesse and Lauren’s Brink Lounge wedding.
From the Bride:
After a few months on Match.com both we were ready to let our profiles run out and not renew our memberships. Between bad dates and people who where in it for the wrong reasons, we decided to finish out there memberships but give it one last try. I clicked like on one of Jesse’s pictures with him and oir now puppy Midnight. Well messages started from that point on. From our very first date at the Great Dane, we quickly connected over family, our love of dogs, and ability to have a really good conversation. However after the first date, I never got back to Jesse about another date, but he gave it one last try and sent a text. I was running late (as usual), but he waited for me, and met me at my car with flowers. I knew from that point forward, this was the man for me. After dating for over a year, we decided we were ready to take the next steps, Jesse proposed in the comfort of our home with Midnight present. It was a nice and simple just the way we both wanted it to happen. When the wedding planning started we knew we wanted to incorporate something for each of us: Legos for Jesse and Disney for me. We worked hard at incorporating both but in a very tasteful way. We had Mickey and Minnie table signs, Disney font for invites and place cards. Instead of using stone to break up table decor we used white legos, and guest enjoyed building things at their tables. We used Lego Minifigs that were made of us in our engagement photos, and even made Minifigs of our wedding party to have at the head table. We had a Disney cake topper and a friend brought us champagne flutes from Disney world with our names on them.
The morning of the wedding was no different, both of us were very calm. I danced the morning away while getting ready with of the girls, and Jesse shared a beer and burger at the Village Bar with all the groomsman. We wanted it to be a fun day had by all! We tried not to stress about the little details because it was important that our wedding was very us, and we designed it to be that way. We also realized that it was about two families coming together and not all the little stuff. Guest told us after the wedding how much fun they had, and how the wedding was very much us. We had a great time during downtown photos, and sharing our love of Madison with our out of town family and guests. We shared more giggles than tears during the ceremony, and Jesse even surprised me by singing to me at the reception! Everything about our day was special to us, and we were happy to have all of our friends and family close.
